High Tea Reception

While my beau and I claimed that we hosted a "high tea" reception, it was kinda a lie:
Because I am not even sure if we had tea?

But here is a round-up of fun tea-related ideas if you are truly looking to incorporate the fashion of the high tea into your reception or party!

These paper tea cups would make for great decoration and/or favors. Paperlunies makes these beautiful paper masterpieces ($60/dozen). I don't know how easy they would be to make, but if you are up for the challenge, this would be a great favor!

AdrioticCreations created this beauty for $18 and would accent any table beautifully. Of course, if you are crafty, shopping for vintage tea cups could be a lot of fun and making candles could be a great bonding experience for you and your beau, ladies, family or friends.

This gorgeous teapot would also make a great centerpiece for the dessert table or mismatched ones for various tables. This set is from minoucbrocante for $80.

Go antique pewter. From Cozy Traditions @$346 (I said pretty, not cheap.)

And of course this a host of other thematic decorations and such that you can bring into high tea theme:
Such as tea crates! Imagine how pretty with some lacy vases and paper flowers!

Some easy and fairly inexpensive favors ($1.60/each) are these engraved teaspoon favors. These are stainless steel, but I am sure there are silver options out there if you want them to be fancier.

You could do something interesting, such as setting up a tea bar (instead of the candy favors--you know the ones, in pretty jars that you scoop and take home). I am not a tea connoisseur, but I imagine the possibilities could be so much fun. These photos here are from Dream Box Photography.

And you could provide cheesecloth and pretty string to create your own tea satchel:
