Paper Flower Wrist Corsage

I had a little extra time today before work, so I thought I would try my hand at creating a wrist corsage for some of our VIPs for our wedding.

I had a general idea of what I wanted: paper flower, a charm, and purple ribbon.

This is the finished piece tied loosely around my wrist (it is impossible to tie it alone!) I used photocopies from Pictorial Webster's Book of Curiosities to make the flower (the green is the front cover)

The template I use for the paper flowers can be found at this post.

This is the backside of the corsage. I used the thick purple ribbon that we are using for boutonnieres and folded it into thirds. I attached ribbon clasps on either side, added an "O" ring to both sides and a key charm to one side.

Then I sewed the first two layers to the folded ribbon (the leaves and the first group of five petals) before hot gluing the rest of the papers in place.

Then, I tied the think purple ribbon to both "O" rings so that the corsage could be tied onto the wrist!

I can post images/templates when I make the next one if anyone is interested. Just let me know in the comments!
