Caterering and the Year Ahead

My groom-to-be and I visited our potential caterer the other day, and left knowing that we chose the right company. I will not post the name of the company just in case, but if you are curious, you are welcome to send me an email and I will let you know.

The company we chose is not a wedding caterer, but one that does primarily corporate functions. We chose them because of their specialty in breakfast foods. The woman who coordinates events is wonderful and accommodating. She is allowing us to customize everything, letting us bring in some of our own food (and cupcakes), that the caterering staff will reheat and serve. She offered us discounted meals for the vendors (sandwich totes with fruit, chips and juice), and will include dishes and tablecloths with the price of the food. Granted, they are all disposable--something which Matthew and I were leaning towards anyway due to price--but free.

The plates are clear scalloped, but look pretty classy and the silverware is plastic that looks like silverware. They look great, especially since we are doing a buffet and will not have place settings at each table. I was reluctant to agree to the paper tablecloths, but since she offered to order them for us in any color we want, and will even order the round ones that we need, we will just have to class them up. I know I discussed table linens extensively in this post and this post and a little bit in this post. We could do purple or burgundy or even cream. And then hopefully Matt's mum can make us some pretty table runners and we be set.

Feeling pretty good about the caterer. (And seriously, who can NOT feel good about stuffed french toast, scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, bacon, fruit skewers with yogurt dip, mini pastries and quiche)...

I also met with all my lovely bridesmaids, my officiant and my aunt last night--and Matthew dressed up in his tux and played bartender. (I love that man). We discussed the progress I have made on various projects (the bouquet, some signs, bridesmaids outfits, music choices). It emphasized the fact that I made the right decisions about who I want to surround me for my wedding. They make me so happy and I am so lucky to have such wonderful, supportive people in my life.

It's going to be a great year.
