Steampunk Music or How We Support the Arts, Get a Show and Can Afford to Hire Our Dream Band

“Ah music,' he said, wiping his eyes. 'A magic beyond all we do here!”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Go ahead and ask me if I want live music at my wedding.

Of course I want live music. I'm a musician.
Are you going to ask what KIND of music I want? Take a guess. Of course. I want Steampunk music. The caveat with having live music, however, is that we can't ALSO have a DJ. We are on a budget.

Then Matthew came across this:

BCG Kickstart
Now, we have several friends and acquaintances who are performers or affiliated in some way with the Boston Circus Guild. We go to many of their show and seriously, these guys are awesome. The BCG wants to put on a show in June, but needs to raise money in order to do so...

List one

We have asked our wedding party to contribute to the $1000 pledge as a gift to us--they get tickets to the show as well as getting us a special and awesome wedding gift. If anyone else wants to contribute to this pledge, let us know!!

We are, of course, assuming that the Circus band is none other than our favorite Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band--or at lease members of it!

There are, of course, other excellent Steampunk bands (think tribal bellydance-circus-jazz fusion...with an industrial feel...)

Check out some of these bands, who are among my favorite:

Magnificent 7

Whimsical Fantasy

Carnival Spiky
